What is it about the Langhe?
My name is Eleanor Fletcher and I'm addicted to the Langhe....Why? Well what's not to like. For starters, I'm surrounded by some of the best wines in the world that are often compared to the likes of great burgundy wines. I wake up to a view that's full of rolling hills, covered with grapevines and encircled by a 180 degrees of dominating Alps. I get access to produce from local markets that makes every meal taste like it came from my own garden. When I'm not feeling creative in the kitchen, I venture out to one of the numerous eateries located nearby, whether it be three Michelin stars or just the local osteria. Then, there's the famous white truffle....
Beyond that, if you needed more, the country side is filled with medieval castles and cobble stone streets just waiting to be discovered. I'm not a cyclist, but I know by the sheer amount of cyclists about, that this is truly a great place to hit the road and cruise or push yourself to the limits.
All this is here, but sometimes it's difficult to pinpoint when you've only got one chance at it. That's why I'm writing this blog and loading this website with information on how to get the best out of the Langhe on your holiday here. No stone left unturned and all the secrets exposed!
Feel free to contact me directly for further information, help with bookings, or even an itinerary for your stay. If it's wine specific, then have no fear, I happen to be married to a winemaker and Barolo/Barbaresco producer and I have no doubt we can arrange some tastings/tours or just general information on the wines produced here.
