eating in the langhe is easy....
I've divided the restaurants by location so that you can easily check out what's great near you.
Alba
Piazza Duomo
Piazza Risorgimento, 4, 12051 Alba Cuneo If you’re a fine diner, on any trip to the Langhe in Piedmont (or even Italy, for that matter), it would be remiss of you not to consider visiting the three-Michelin starred restaurant, Piazza Duomo. Check out my blog post here. |
La Piola
Piazza Risorgimento, 4 12051 Alba Cuneo This is the sister restaurant of Piazza Duomo. It is more relaxed, bistro-style dining. They have a blackboard with a small selection of traditional dishes, with new and interesting specials every day, Centrally located in the main piazza of Alba, you can sit in the piazza in a glassed-in area. A great bistro, great selection of wines, food always fresh, and never heavy. They also do some special 'themed' dinner nights in Winter and Spring for the more local crowd (think Bagna Cauda night, Fritto Misto or a full menu dedicated to Asparagus). Bistrot dei Sognatori Piazza S.Giovanni, Alba, Italy Rustic, authentic place with good atmosphere. I've never seen a menu: it's more like an onslaught of dishes that keep arriving at your table. You have to exercise some restraint, because you could find yourself at the end of 5 dishes realising that that was only the antipasti... |
LA MORRA
Osteria More e Macine
Via XX Settembre, 18 12064 La Morra
A great place for lunch, with local and buzzy atmosphere. Portion sizes (especially pasta) are large so you don't need to go overboard. Good selection of wines by the glass including, of course, a local Barolo or two. Best to book.
Ristorante Bovio
Via Alba, 17 bis 12064 - LA MORRA - CN
Fantastic restaurant for a more refined experience. Great place for lunch on a nice day, as there is a stunning terrace area overlooking La Morra vineyards. Also, good at night but request, if possible, a table near the window. The food is delicious (particularly their traditional tasting menu) and it is good value, Definitely book - could have more luck at lunch in busy periods.
